John W. Quinn
John W. Quinn
John Quinn was born with a partial paralysis, two different sized feet, and the inability to walk prior to age four. He failed the physical exam for the Navy, and with painful, self-applied physical therapy, passed the second exam. He kept his condition a secret for 20 years, served on destroyers, two aircraft carriers and a battleship, and administered business affairs for a SEAL unit. He retired a highly decorated senior chief petty officer.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan and currently resides in Tucson, Arizona.
