Robert F. Illing
A native San Franciscan, Robert Illing did graduate studies at San Francisco State University and the University of Madrid after an AB at the University of California. Following a stint as a naval officer in the Pacific, he served 25 years in the Foreign Service in Mexico, Yugoslavia, the Holy See, Portugal and the Department of State.
He currently lives with his wife Georgina in Northern Portugal where he engages in philanthropic, cultural and European Union activities and gardening as well as producing local white wine.
